Our mission

Our mission at Ezra is early detection of cancer for everyone in the world. We are currently focused on prostate cancer and have developed a new screening technology based on MRI and AI.

We believe in empowering people to make their own health decisions, so we are offering Ezra as a direct-to-consumer health membership. Our members sign up for Ezra, visit a partner imaging center to get a prostate MRI scan, and receive a cancer screening report within 48 hours. Our reports are generated by radiologists assisted by the Ezra AI, which increases accuracy and improves productivity for our radiologists.

Your mission

Your mission is to lead the development of medical imaging software at Ezra. We are building modern, state-of-the-art, web-based interfaces used internally by our staff and externally by our imaging partners. These tools enable us, our partners, users, and physicians to have access and interact with our AI algorithms.

As a Medical Imaging Software Engineer at Ezra, you will:

  • Participate in the development of software specifications for Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS)
  • Be responsible for PACS design, implementation, deployment and testing
  • Implement visualization and manipulation of medical images in DICOM and NRRD format
  • Write code to interact with our AI’s API endpoints using a REST interface
  • Implement selection of regions of interest (ROI)
  • Implement overlays, manipulation and editing of 2D/3D segmentations
  • Implement image storage and retrieval procedures

Who you are

A software engineer/web developer with 5+ years of experience developing imaging systems. You are an expert in graphical user interface development, both standalone and web-based. You have experience in image processing and computer vision algorithms and have implemented such algorithms in web-based interfaces using Python and Javascript. You are familiar with component-based software engineering. You also have experience with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, Meteor and React.

Key requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (minimum) in software engineering, computer engineering or computer science
  • 5+ years of web development experience focused on visualization or image processing algorithms (bonus points: experience with medical imaging)
  • 5+ years of experience in Javascript, ECMA 6
  • 3+ years of experience working on any of the following languages: C++, Java, C#, python (bonus points: scientific Python)
  • Portfolio of projects showing proficiency in at least one of the following frameworks: Meteor, Angular, or React
  • Deep understanding of software engineering disciplines such as design, architecture, change management and quality assurance
  • Experience manipulating medical image formats such as DICOM, Analyze, Nifti and/or NRRD
  • Familiarity with component-based software engineering and experience with specific tools such as Node.js and npm
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and learn complex new procedures
  • Special consideration will be given to candidates with a record of achievement in collaborative, team-driven environments
